IAWC is an association of attorneys actively engaged in the area of workers' compensation law on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and injured workers. IAWC's objective is to promote the administration of justice, provide continuing legal education in the area of workers' compensation law, and enhance the effectiveness of the workers' compensation laws and their administration.

Pat Waldron | President

PATRICK V. WALDRON has been practicing law with the Patterson Law Firm since 1995 and became an Equity Partner in 2000. He has a practice focused on personal injury civil litigation, workers’ compensation, and serves as mediator in civil and worker’s compensation matters statewide.

Pat was born in Keokuk, Iowa, on December 23, 1969. He attended Marycrest College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in 1992, and Drake University Law School, where he received his Juris Doctorate, with honors, in 1995. At Drake, Pat participated on the National Mock Trial Team, was selected to the Moot Court Board, and was honored with the Academic Achievement Award in Advanced Problems in Torts.

Pat is a member of the Polk County, Iowa State (including the Litigation and Workers' Compensation Sections), and American Bar Associations. He has served on the Board of Governors for the Iowa Association of Workers’ Compensation. He previously served as Co- Chair of the Iowa State Bar Association CLE Seminar Committee. He has served as a member of the Iowa Association of Workers' Compensation Lawyers Legislative Committee. He has also served on the board of the American Academy of ADR Attorneys. Pat is regularly asked to speak at Iowa’s various statewide continuing legal education seminars on issues of trial preparation, risk management, mediation, bad faith, workers’ compensation and changes in Iowa law. Pat is highly regarded by his peers as one of the top worker’s compensation and trial lawyers in the state and has been AV Rated by his peers through Martindale Hubbell since 2005.

Pat and his wife Kari have four children that are the center of Pat’s nonwork life. He enjoys family above all, but is active in his community as well. Pat serves on the board of the James Arthur Albert Foundation, Van Meter Soccer Club and is active as an assistant coach of the Van Meter High School Boys’ Soccer Team.
